As Yi steps into its second decade, the Yi Leadership Academy has been formed as an initiative to uphold the founding principles, values and to instill the same in the future leadership through Yi Leaders Fellowship Program. This is a unique program designed keeping in mind the needs of the Yi membership as well as the organization. The core premise of the program is that leading the self and personal mastery is the first step in leading others to make a difference in the community and the nation. The Yi Leaders Fellowship is aimed at helping the Yi leadership gain competency both in personal leadership and leading others.

The program is designed to equip Yi leaders with frameworks and tools to increase their chances of success at higher echelons of the organization, by deepening knowledge, broadening perspectives and enhancing their capacity to understand Yi. Through this fellowship, Yi also seeks to provide a connect with the larger picture of national development.

The fellowship program offers an ideal opportunity to strengthen your understanding of Yi. The small class size will foster between the peers intensive experiences to explore, introspect and reflect on personal qualities and capacities. The modules for the program are:

  • Module 4 : Institutionalising Youth Participation In Nation Building

  • Module 6 : Yi Organization Structure And Culture
  • Module 7 : Yi Learning’s from the Field: Best Practices As Next Practices
  • Module 8 : Yi and Me

The Leadership Academy combines various pedagogical methods including classroom lectures, case studies, role-plays, videos, self-reflections and peer learning and aims to integrate the leading insights with participants’ personal experiences to provide a practical learning about Yi and how to navigate the way while in Yi leadership position. Group discussions and dynamic workshops will provide a rich learning experience that will allow the members to unleash the power of their unique leadership vision.

By the end of the program, the members will:

  • Gain in-depth understandings of the unique challenges faced while in Yi leadership position
